A Guide to Booking a Professional Face Painter

If you are going to the expense of having a professional Face Painter at your event, you want your customers/guests to be impressed by the service they provide, below are a few tips to help you when booking.

• A professional Face Painter will use Water Based products specifically designed for Face & Body Art, which comply with EEC regulations. They will have a good selection of products.

• Make sure the Face Painter is able to paint the required number of faces in the allotted time; At least 15 per hour should be expected (Don’t take the excuse that “not all children will want their faces painted”). Often, parents/adults will have a go too.

• Always check the Face Painters Web site or ask for examples of their work. Don’t just rely on one or 2 pictures they may display on Facebook. Also it is a good idea to ask for a picture of their paints and set up. If you are having a themed event, check that they are able to produce the designs you require.

• A Face Painter should hold Public Liability Insurance most local Authorities ask for 5 Million.

• Face Painters should display a disclaimer notice regarding allergies, do’s & don’ts etc. whilst working.

About Health & Safety

In accordance with some manufacturers guidelines Face Paint is NOT recommended for children under 3 years of age.

For safety reasons we do not paint anyone who appears to be suffering from a cold sore, conjunctivitis, chicken pox, head lice or any infectious skin complaint, or who has eczema or an open cut on their face.

Children’s faces must be clean and noses wiped before being painted, although we use a fresh sponge for each client.

All products used are specifically designed for professional use and comply with EEC regulations.  If you have any concerns about your child’s reaction to Face Paint please discuss with the Face Painter, as it is possible to do a patch test, or paint a design on the hand or arm.

Water based make up is easily removed with SOAP and WATER, soak clothing in cold water before washing
